This page is a quick summary of my long-term goal to cross the State of Alaska from Anchorage to the Arctic Ocean (Beaufort Sea). This is an ongoing and piecemeal effort.
I have a Flickr account devoted solely to Alaska.
See these links for photos and writings about completed portions of this journey:
My latest journey was on the Wood River and can be found here.
Past journeys include the North Slope in 2018.
And From Glaciers to the Sea: Following the Entirety of Alaska's Susitna River in 2013.
And Glaciers to the Sea, episode II on the Jago River in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in 2015 (not on the direct route, but a great journey).
STATS:
I've completed over 970 miles thus far, with about 660 to go. I plan to complete the remainder via the Chandalar, Yukon, and Tanana Rivers in an upcoming summer.
